What will Barcelona learn from Real Madrid’s elimination?

Real Madrid elimination from the Champions league was the event of the week. Some celebrated it, others mourned it and the show will keep on going for a while. What is important for Barcelona is to try to benefit from that event the best way possible. Lot of lessons should be recorded as it’s always better to learn from others mistakes rather than waiting till you suffer from it.
I’m writing this article before Barcelona game against Stuttgart (second leg). So it’s obvious that I am not trying to gloat or kick Real Madrid while they are on the ground. We may need to write a similar article about Barcelona if Stuttgart produces a shocking result.

Some may say: why do we need to care about what happens to Real Madrid? I think it’s enough to be a Barcelona fan to make this question sound as an answer. I do not care that much about the investment Real Madrid made last summer. As long as they are not investing my money then I don’t bother. Especially that evaluating the return of investment must be delayed three or four more years to have an objective idea about how things went in that matter. They have a relatively young squad, good coach (if he survived), and enough resources to bounce back in the following years. In fact, their performance this season exceeded my own expectations for their first season under Perez management. Still, we can analyze what went wrong for them, may be it help us to strengthen our own football model.

On the bright side, this is the first election I remember where the candidates are pointing out their belief in enhancing the youth farms more than bringing the biggest star that we don’t have yet. But we all know that candidates say what the fans want to hear (and credit to the socios for driving the elections to that path). After a candidate becomes a president, he does what HE feels right. And that’s where I say again: Coaches must have the first word in the transfer policy Read More...

*Didnt forget about the CL game. But I prefer to write articles inspired by the games rather than direct reviews. Especially when there are lot of things to analyse. There will be an article inherited from the CL Battle in the coming days.
